You can change things around but you need the right attitude. Stop thinking exclusively like a speaker and start thinking like a master marketer!

Your speaking skills are not enough to get you rich. Keep in mind, you are not just in the speaking business, you are in the business of marketing your speaking services!

It is the master marketers that are able to quickly find financial success. Why? Because they are able to book more speeches with less effort. They have higher rates, and they may have multiple streams of income. Sure they are good speakers but they are great marketers and that combination means they are most likely to be successful.

Financially struggling speakers sometimes put too much emphasis and hard work into constantly improving their material and speaking abilities. Eventually, they get burned out and frustrated. They put in all of the effort but they aren’t earning enough. Some of them, even the ones with the genuine gifts of speaking, quit before their careers get off the ground.

Let me share the key principles on how to speak and grow rich.

1. Network and build alliances

Surround yourself with richer and wiser people. The more you hang out with them, the faster you will succeed. Not only that you surround yourself with positive energy, you are also building quality alliances. You are expanding your network with individuals that can enhance your credibility and your ability as well.

You’ll be surprised with the opportunities that may come along. You will have free publicity, and may get some quality referrals. Your services will be perceived in high regards.

2. Rejection are Lessons

If your offers are not accepted, try to investigate why and learn from it. It will give you more understanding about your market. Eventually, you can adjust your strategy and implement new strategies.

Experience will tell you what works and what doesn’t work. There will be always something to discover. Take heed of the lessons rejection brings.

Also, learn from the experiences of others. Don’t wait to make your own mistake.

3. Pick a niche

One big mistake that most speakers make is trying to be everything for everyone. You have got to pick a niche. Having a broad or general market will only stress you out. It will be difficult to determine the appropriate marketing approach because different markets have different inclinations.

You cannot make everyone happy and your services may end up appearing half hearted. Choose a market that fits you and stick with it. In the long run, you’ll be a master in that niche and you’ll give everyone in that niche quality service. People will take notice of your expertise and they won’t mind your high price tag. They will book you because you are the best on what you do and you are the best at marketing that fact.

Successful motivational speakers are not only highly regarded but also financially privileged. check this: http://bit.ly/gMdHju

Being a professional public speaker can be very lucrative and like most careers and disciplines there are specialty areas. So, it is sensible for any professional, including public speakers, to find the department he is most capable and this field determination may come naturally. Some speak as a primary source of income but it is not uncommon to see businessmen use public speaking as a complementary tool to enhance the promotion of their products or services. In some cases, people will just unknowingly find themselves in the industry. Here are three types of professional speaking careers, some people do a little but of everything while others are pure specialists. 1.Keynote speakers Keynote public speakers are one of the highest paid professional speakers along with motivational speakers. Although they are not much different to motivational speakers, they do have some subtle differences. Keynote speakers do not really need to motivate people but they rather set the mood of the assembly. They present a mindset that will effectively be very useful to program as a whole.

1.Keynote speakers

Keynote public speakers are one of the highest paid professional speakers along with motivational speakers. Although they are not much different to motivational speakers, they do have some subtle differences.

Keynote speakers do not really need to motivate people but they rather set the mood of the assembly. They present a mindset that will effectively be very useful to program as a whole. Their primary objective is to set the tone and color of the agenda.

Keynote speakers are fun, enthusiastic, and optimistic. Its important to keep your keynote speeches exciting while trying to charm the crowd with your quick wit and anecdotes.

2.Motivational Speakers

Successful motivational speakers are usually successful individuals. Like keynote speakers they are well compensated for their as professional speeches.

Motivational speakers may be considered as stage gurus. They seem to radiate wisdom and experience. They have a way with words that will inspire you to change your paradigms and deep-rooted beliefs.

Usually, motivational speakers should have their share of success in life; or at least, experienced adversity in life and managed to conquer it. This is essential because motivational speakers need credibility. Who would want advices and lectures from losers anyway?

Motivational speakers don’t need to be funny but humor can sometimes help. Some speakers can be very somber and serious. They bombard the people with grim truths they have learned and they teach the audience how to utilize this knowledge to enrich their lives.

3.Platform speakers

Platform speakers, by virtue, are stage marketers. They are not normally paid to speak to the public but rather they are speaking in behalf of a product. Platform speakers are usually the direct beneficiary of the profits generated from the sold products afterwards. At times, they can be just endorsers and they get a percentage of the revenues.

Platform speakers must be entertaining, humorous, and informative. They must know the technical aspects of the product; it helps a great deal if they truly believe in the product. Platform speakers in general, are salesperson first and public speakers next.

Have you ever wondered what to do with your charm and knack of speaking in front of people? Have you ever thought that you could make a profitable career out of it? Professional public speaking is a vocation for people with a flair in mass communication. A career in public speaking does not just involve skills on stage but includes a lot of off stage skills as well. Before I go into that, lets touch on how to become an effective public speaker; one that may have longevity and great money-making potential. A public speaker should have a specialty. You should know what kind of speeches you are most natural and attuned with. There may be a specific topic that you find your self most knowledgeable in. Once you are able to determine your topic consider it your specialty. In public speaking, your specialty will determine your niche. Your niche is your ticket to public speaking success. Being a generalist will limit your potential. It may seem counter-intuitive but in any business venture, a target audience must be resolved. It is your market.

It is where you will draw your inspiration and riches from.

And now, that brings me to the other half of being an effective public speaker. Public speaking is not only about doing speeches; it is also implementing marketing strategies. Delivering speeches is the product and the marketing aspect will sell the product. Poor marketing practices will not get you booked. Your product is pointless if no one is using it.

Great public speakers know how to brand themselves. Are you a hilarious motivational speaker? Brand yourself as a “Motivational Comedian!” are you a near death survivor with something inspirational to share? Label your public speaking persona as “The Miraculous Preacher!”

Those are just simple examples and I know they’re a bit cheesy but you get my point.

Branding enhances marketing appeal and denotes niche expertise. Moreover, you are much easier to recall because of the branding.

Marketing yourself as a speaker must be extensive. You should use lots of marketing materials to help reach your audience. Flyers, brochures, and media ads are just some of marketing tools you can implement. Keep in mind to stay focus with your brand. Emphasize your personal brand in these marketing materials. So that, at first glance, it can be catchy and somehow capable of displaying what you are all about.

Public speaking is an ongoing journey. A lot of learning will take place as you grow with your career. Ultimately, you will become an authority and people will give high regards to your skills and knowledge.

It may take some time to get to that status but you won’t ever get there if you don’t spend the time promoting yourself in the public market. Make the people aware of your skills and offers and just be sure that you can deliver a great performance.

I’ll set others aside for awhile and concentrate on the entertainment value of public speaking. After all, speakers are entertainers as well as motivators and informers but they can not achieve these goals if they fail to entertain the audience.

To entertain is to amuse, to catch interest, or to please. An entertained audience is more receptive to any stimulus. Their minds are open and the audience will take anything the speaker has in store for them. Therefore, entertainment is an essential element in speech delivery.

What does it take to entertain a crowd? Do you have to be funny? Do you have to be enthusiastic?

There is no definite manner on how to become entertaining. There can be a lot of ways but I’ll just give general pointers. These are not strict rules but rather universal guidelines that may give you a broader understanding about entertaining the audience in your speeches. Each speaker has his own style. Explore your own approach because ultimately, your personal methods are still the best.

Stories the ancient art of entertainment

Everybody loves stories. No matter what age, ethnicity, or gender people with the capacity to hear and understand are fond of listening to stories.

The audience wants to hear stories because they can relate and may find lessons from them. Stories, especially true ones, are greatly appreciated by the listeners. Humans are naturally gossip-hungry. We are instinctively wired to seek knowledge either from factual events or from products of fiction. This is why we love to watch news and movies on TV.

In public speaking, you should tell stories relevant to the theme. Your stories should be filled with lessons and should teach the audience something valuable. True stories are the best in this situation. If your stories are not appropriate, you can embellish a little bit. After all, the goal here is to prove your points through entertaining and engaging stories. No one has to know if it is true or not.

Laugh at yourself and the audience will laugh with you

Laughing at yourself sets a mood of acceptance of our weaknesses and inadequacies. It will also relieve the tension in the air and will give the audience the consent to be candid. If they realize that the speaker in front of them is just as human as they are, the audience tends to trust and listen more.

Have fun and be yourself

If you pressure yourself to become the most entertaining speaker the audience has ever come to witness, you will never become one. Even though the goal is to inform and entertain, never forget to relax and be yourself. Your self-imposed pressures may go against you. Just have fun with it and be natural.

A successful speaker is a money-magnet! Let me share to you the ways on how to get rich with speech!

A successful speech is only one of the marketing tools. So it must be said that to become rich with public speaking, you must be also good at speaking. But success in professional speaking is not solely based on the ability to speak in front of people. Sure, it counts but the way to riches is from the speaker’s ability to market his or her stuff.

In the speaking world, marketing skill is equal in value to speaking skill. You can have all the talent in the world but if you can’t market yourself, you’ll still end up with nothing. Similarly, if you are great in marketing but you can’t speak to save your life, your career will go nowhere.

Here are some principles on how to get rich in speaking.

Pick a niche and get rich

You must pick a specific market. Don’t shoot blindly. By picking a target, you will have a clear grasp of what your market needs. You will know what works in that field and you can effectively build your material around it.

Understanding your target market will eventually make you an authority because you are a specialist. The important thing here is that you will be perceived as the best person who can provide their needs.

Define yourself to the public

This is about branding your self as a speaker. Branding is great marketing strategy because you are directly reaching out to your chosen niche. You are defining yourself to the public and give the impression that you are great in doing a specific thing. For example, if you define yourself as a “great student motivator”, the public will take notice of this. And your chosen niche, like colleges in this case, will book you to speak to them because after all, you are the “great student motivator”!

Create multiple streams of income in one little niche

Don’t get satisfied with the paychecks you received after every speaking engagement. To get rich, you’ve got to create other ways to make money from your skills.

You can write a book for your market to help your listeners and many others achieve their goals. You can also build a website that offers online resources for a price. This way, you are earning money even when you aren’t speaking.

Furthermore, you will get more bookings out of these because books and websites have great promotional value. Plus, you gain more credibility in the field.

Motivational Speaker James Malinchak will appear on Secret Millionaire on ABC Television Network – Show airs at 8:00pm/7:00pm Central this Sunday, March 20 · 8:00pm – 9:00pm http://bit.ly/fVzdh6
